School

Today was the start of the new semester for our mommy and me preschool class. All new kids and a new teacher as well! Lila went on the slide with a new friend named Charlotte, took turns riding and pulling a wagon, and really enjoyed pushing the "vroom rooms" down the parking garage ramp.

Farmer's Market Fun

It's a beautiful day in Marin! This morning we went to the Marin Country Mart Farmer's Market. Lila rode the mini carousel, as always :) We then shared a yummy blueberry muffin from the Rustic Bakery stand, and danced together at the children's show. We had a great time!

More Messy Art!

It's Friday, and Lila went back to the Discovery Museum for art class! After the class she took off her smock and got ready to go...until she saw a painting wall in another room and quickly grabbed a brush! Mess-Y!

Little Gymnast

Lila LOVES gymnastics! We attend an open gym class on Saturday mornings, and Lila loves jumping on the trampoline and playing in the foam pit. I've been trying to find some classes during the week, and just discovered two great places. One class is a "free for all" (run and jump as you please), and the other one is a bit more structured (L has to wait her turn). Today Cara took Lila to the open gym class. Sick Day

Lila Pearl has a bad cold, so we've stayed home the past few days. We've been doing art projects, having music classes and dance parties, and spending lots of time with her stuffed animal friends. Yesterday I shared that Lila has a special hiding place in our bathroom. Today she tried to hide from me (with just her hands covering her face) when I said I wanted to help blow her nose!

Sunday Morning Play date

Lila had a playdate at Ginger and Sierra's house this morning. They recently moved to Mill Valley, and had fun touring Lila around their house.  They were both so careful with Lila, showing her their toys and guiding her up and down the steps. It was so sweet to watch them "teach" Lila about being older :)

Hide - and - Seek

Lila loves to play peek-a-boo and hide-and-seek. Her current favorite hiding spot is in our bathroom, behind the curtains. She loves to be "found", and wants to play over and over again. "Two!"

Ian took Lila to her Messy Art class at the museum today. When I asked him how it was, he immediately replied "Messy" - sure looks that way!

It's Yoga

Today Lila and I went to a yoga class at It's Yoga in the Presidio.  Our first time taking yoga, and L was a pro! We then went to drop off preschool applications. At one of the schools I ran into someone I knew, so I put Lila down to give the woman a hug. Lila ran over to a classroom door and said "Lila's turn!" The kind teacher opened the door and invited her in, so she played with the 4 yr olds in a box that they had turned into a ship, and discovered that she loves colored pencils! (Sorry, no pictures, as my phone was in the car).

Well, it's been a while, but I decided it was time to get back to blogging. Lila is 22 months already! She is very busy, and has a lot to say. I can't believe we've started the preschool application process for her this year. While I'm in denial (my baby in preschool?), Lila seems ready for some more structured play. In the meantime, we're busy at the playground, the museums, and at several classes. Here are some pictures from a recent art class (called "Let's Get Messy!") that Lila is taking at the Discovery Museum.
