Morning at the Museum

We had a fun time at the Discovery Museum this morning. Lila really enjoyed the art rooms today.  She just loves to use spray bottles!

There was classical music playing, and a variety of materials - special sand, water and food coloring, paper shreds soaked in water to mold...so fun :)

Back to School Night

Ian and I attended Back to School Night at Lila's preschool on Thursday evening. Julie Elam (the woman who hired me to teach in SF when I was moving from NY), is now the Head of Marin Primary. It was so odd to have her there introducing teachers to speak to US, rather than introducing ME to talk to parents! Ian and I kept remarking how funny it felt to be at our own child's Back to School Night. How quickly we have a child attending school!

We had class picture day on Friday. Lila then went on a fun pancake play date with her new school friend, George. (Yes, all of her little California boy friends seem to have long hair!)

Dinner Date

Lila and I went to the Corte Madera Farmer's Market this afternoon. She got a honey stick - her new favorite treat there.

We then went to dinner at Pacific Catch, where she picked up chopsticks for the first time and used them like a pro!

Pig Tail Play Date

Once again, Lila chose to head to Playland for her Monday playdate with William.  She finally let me keep her pigtails in for more than 10 minutes! SO cute!

Sunday Funday

We hope everyone had a great weekend!  It was a gorgeous day, and we spent most of it outside. In the morning we met Steph, Seth, Ella, Will, and Will's friend, Nate at the park. We then went to Yankee Pier for lunch, which was great, as Lila just loves playing in the sandbox there. The older kids were looking on as she dug and dug...and made them all birthday pies!

We met the Eckhardt family for a scooter ride at Blackie's Pasture in the afternoon. As if that weren't enough,  Lila then ran around the kitchen 100 times - she really is the energizer 2 1/2 year old! (Please notice she did her own hair, ha)

Rainy Morning SF Visit

Although it NEVER rains here in September, we woke up this morning to a major downpour.  We headed into the city to visit Luciana, then ate at one of our favorite taco spots, Tacolicious. The sun came out by mid afternoon, so we were able to spend LOTS of time at the park for running around - which was great after a rainy morning!

Butterfly Goes to the Dentist

Lila has been wearing her purple tutu and wings (a gift from Eric and Molly) all around lately. This year she understands that people dress up for Halloween, and she has declared that she will be a butterfly. Today we went on an early neighborhood walk (in butterfly clothes), stopped off at school to renew a library book, attended ballet class, and then went to the dentist. Of course, this afternoon Lila wanted to go to the pool - she is really starting to swim!

Lila fell at school yesterday and hit her lip on the tennis courts during a fire drill.  Her teachers said she was so brave, as it was bleeding a lot and they had to wait until after the drill to get inside to clean her up. The dentist was very careful, since Lila told him "I have a bad cut on my lip, so please be careful."  After the great exam (all 20 baby teeth!), she said "Thanks! Now I'm going to get a cookie!"  She sold me out...

Getting Dressed for School

Look who chose her own outfit and hairstyle for school today! She even tried to put her shoes on independently...

Lila is still crying when I drop her off, (which is so hard for me!), but her teachers say she's fine minutes later and very happy throughout the morning. They also report that she really enjoys music and loves to dance :)

Weekend and Mondays with William

It was another beautiful weekend and of course, Lila wanted to spend most of it swimming! Here are some pictures of Lila with our friends Lily and Chloe.

Since Lila and William go to different preschools, we've been having play dates on Mondays to keep their friendship growing. Here they are at Playland yesterday.

While William took his daily 4 1/2 hour nap (!), Lila took her little rest and then we headed to Mill Valley for her first Itty Bitty Broadway class. Here she is laughing it up after class with a friend, Mila, from our old Mommy and Me preschool class at the JCC.

And the day wouldn't be complete without a post bath, pajama clad, Rody ride.
