The preschool director said that many moms come to her office at drop off on this first day and just cry on her couch. I sure hope they save a spot for me - I started crying the day Lila received her acceptance letters! We'll see..in the meantime, Lila is excited about the idea of school and talks about her new teachers, Joan and Stephanie, all the time. She hasn't even met them yet, but she is already imagining her school days. We have an Open House on Monday, so I'll post pictures then.
This week we went to gymnastics, Playland, the pool, ballet, you name it! I played tennis with a friend this evening and Lila came for a bit and held a racquet for the first time! To quote my dad, "Grandpa Bernie would have been very proud!"
Today Lila had her 2 1/2 year old check up with Dr. Dana. She weighs 33 pounds and is 38 inches! She got her flu shot and was more concerned about the band aid than the shot. She was a real trooper!
Before her appointment we had ballet class. Here are a few photos of Lila with Ms. Sara, her ballet teacher. Lila remembered everything from before the summer, and Ms. Sara asked her to lead with her, as Lila started to say what the next step was even before Ms. Sara! We are going to try the class for 3 1/2 year olds next week. It's not a mommy and me, a drop off (sniff, sniff), but it's clear she's ready.
Here is a video of Lila and her new friend Leona at Playland:
Here she is making bracelets for the men working in our yard:
She wouldn't leave the house until she made one for each of them! Lila is such a sweet and caring little girl. She is always thinking of others and making sure all is okay. It was really sweet to see all these men wearing pipe cleaner / bead bracelets while they worked! It certainly made Lila smile :)
