Lila had her first day of preschool today in the Forest classroom. She woke up extremely early (surprise, surprise), so we weren't sure how everything would go at school. She was a real champ! When Ian and I dropped her off at 8:30am, we explained I'd be back to pick her up after lunch and she said "Okay!" while busying herself at the play dough table. At 10am her teacher Stephanie called to say all was going well, and that Lila was busy playing outside. At 10:45 she called me back to say, "We think she's done for today" - so I picked her up. I walked in and Lila was sitting near her teacher Joan. She jumped up and ran to me with the biggest smile on her face. She said "Mommy, I cried because I wanted you."
We'll see how tomorrow goes. When I told her we'd try again tomorrow, she acted surprised that there was another day of school, (as if it were just a one day activity). We're so proud of her - she was there from 8:30-11 on her very first day! You can see how excited (and tired, note the eye rubbing) she is in this video.
I noticed some of the videos may not work on the blog, so let me know if you'd like it emailed.
